VOLUNTEER

As an all-volunteer organization, Virtually Home is truly the definition of grassroots activism. We have no paid staff, consultants or expensive office space. We depend completely on compassionate members of the community to achieve our goal of saving animals.

YOUR involvement is the key to our ongoing success. You can help fulfill Virtually Home's mission of a truly no-kill community for homeless and abandoned cats in the Chicagoland area.

Adoption Events

Requires the unique ability to work well with both animals and humans representing Virtually Home and promoting our cats at neighborhood adoption and outreach events.

Requirements: volunteers under 18 yrs. old must have written parental permission.

Fostering Program

The more people who are willing to open their homes and hearts to a cat for fostering, the more cats we can save. It’s that simple. Because we don’t have a facility to house the cats post rescue, Virtually Home depends on generous members of the community to let these cats crash on their couch and to help them adjust to a new life of love, comfort and support. Please help us save more cats by learning what it means to become a foster parent extraordinaire!

Transportation

What we refer to as "schlepping", Virtually Home is always in need of help transporting supplies to our foster homes as well as our cats to vet appointments and adoption events.

Requirements: Must be at least 18 years old, have means of transportation and be fully insured.

Community Outreach

As a grassroots organization community support is the backbone to our success. You can represent Virtually Home in your neighborhood or in your workplace by displaying our adoption, foster and event posters on company bulletin boards, in neighborhood coffee shops, pet stores and community centers.

Advisory Board

Got a specialized skill or talent such as accounting, fundraising, grant writing or event planning that you would like to share? As an all-volunteer group we are always looking for talented individuals to advise us on an ad hoc basis.
